Hello, this is me.

Updated: Jul 30, 2019

I was laying in bed last night attempting to fall asleep while the 19 week baby developing in my uterus was having some kind of dance party when I realized that it was time to start a mom blog. I mean the things I experience in a week could write a New York Times best seller!

I first thought of starting a blog shortly after Marilyn, my two year old, was born. My husband and I were at our church setting up, we rent a building so we set up the platform for music and tear it down every week (eye roll), when I took a step off the platform to get something. Our platform thankfully only has one step because my heel didn’t quite make it off to the floor and I face planted in the carpet covered, cement altar.

Most people would be grateful that no one was there to witness this failure. But as I lay on the floor like I had been wiped out by the Holy Spirit I decided that my clumsy mom life needed to be shared with the world. Once I had regained my dignity, I got up off the floor, checked on my newborn and texted my mom to bring me some large band aids to church. Having lost my knee cap, I moved on.

It wasn’t until last night when I saw a friends Instagram story of her daughter passed out face down on her leg (what!?) that the idea of a mom blog sparked again. So here I am with all my type 9 tendencies bringing you some slow moving mom-speriences.

Let’s start with an introduction. Hi, I’m Mariah. I have grown two and a half babies. A four year old curly cue named Paladin (Pal-uh-den, for those of you saying ‘Puh-lay-den’), but fear not because we call her Pali. A two year old love bug named Marilyn who we call Marilyn and an unnamed 19 week feisty pants who's gender we find out next week. I married Daniel, my best friend, at the ripe old age of 21. *pause for laughter* We just celebrated our 7th anniversary and I still mostly like him. Kidding! I couldn’t live without his adorable face in my life. (More on him in the future)

In this blog I will be sharing my happy, sad and weird moments. Like deciding that there was no way I would hide in corners and smelly bathrooms when I breastfed my children or last weekend when Marilyn pooped in the driveway...another story for another time. Basically, if you feel like you’re not moming life correctly just read here because none of us are.

Until next time,

Mom-uh-riah *throws up peace sign*
