My youth girls have a devotions group that we send weekly encouragement in. I was thinking the other day that maybe everyone needs of bit of that so I'm going to share some short encouragements with you. If you're in my youth, I apologize because you've already heard this but I'll try to add something extra for you.
I want to talk about the resurrection of Jesus but not in the way you may think. Luke 24:1-4 says,
“But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.”
We've probably all read this scripture about the resurrection of Jesus numerous times and didn't really think much of it. But I have a simple thought for you today. The men standing at the tomb of Jesus were described as having dazzling apparel. The men themselves weren’t dazzling, it was their apparel. That which God placed on them dazzled.
It doesn’t matter who you came from, what you’ve done or thought of doing, it doesn’t matter how old you are, how pretty/skinny/puffy/funny looking because God will make you dazzle.
Paul said, " I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14). He never claims to hit that mark but God made him dazzle anyway. Why? Because he tried.
Be fierce in God today
